CITS is a 12-month or 1-year training in a variety of trades for ITI Instructor certification.
The main objective of the ATI Kanpur Institute is to teach vocational instructors for various industrial training institutes and centres as well as for other foundation training institutions.
Since the beginning of the Craftsmen Training Scheme, DGT has been ordered to be responsible for the training of craft instructors (CTS).
The instructor trainees receive comprehensive training in both practical and training methodology procedures to make them familiar with ways for imparting hands-on skills and to teach professional workforce for the industry.

Eligibility for Admission :
- ITI (NCVT Certificate)
- Diploma
- Degree
diploma, degree, or equivalent from a recognised university or technical education board.
Candidates for the SCVT and CoE are ineligible.
Age limit: Minimum 14 years, No upper age limit.
Admission & Award of Certificate :
Candidates may sign up for the aforementioned programmes for a full year. A candidate must receive at least 60% in trade practical checks in and attendance, as well as 40% in trade theory, 40% in POT, 40% in WCS, and 60% in trade practical.
They also need to participate in at least 80% of the final test. the final test, which is routinely held in the months of June and July by NCVT, New Delhi. Trainees will receive a certificate of Instructor training from NCVT after completing the required exam.
Hostel: NSTI Kanpur offers hostel accommodations to trainees who have successfully applied for admission. A yearly payment of Rs. 1200/- for hostel rent and Rs. 50/- for service fees is required to use a hostel. For dormitory accommodations, an additional deposit of Rs. 125 each session in hostel caution money is required. Girls can stay in separate ladies’ rooms.

Working Hours : From Monday to Friday 09.00 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break
Attendance : Minimum 80% attendance is mandatory to appear in the Final Trade Test to be held at the end of the session.
